Hi, I am Angie and am thrilled to be considered for your cat's grooming needs. I have an MSA from Central Michigan University in Human Resources and worked in the corporate world for 15 years before realizing my passion. So, I enrolled inCornerstone Dog Grooming Academy in Clyde, Ohio completing my grooming certification in 2009. I have worked with both dogs and cats for over 13 years. I been fortunate to have had the opportunities to groom at a few different daycare/hotel facilities and in a vet setting where I was able to have cat only grooming days, as well as, in salons where both dogs and cats were groomed on the same days. No matter how loud, chaotic, or busy we were, both species were mixed in being groomed besides each other. It was while working in both atmospheres that I noticed a tremendous difference in cats' behavior, stress levels, as well as seeing the aggression levels heighten when dogs are around. This is what prompted me to open Kitty Cuts Grooming, a Feline Exclusive Salon where cats are the only animals present. Throughout my career I constantly attend trade shows, classes and seminars to keep up continuing my education in this industry. I am currently enrolled in the National Cat Groomers Institute (NCGI) program, where I am studying to become a Certified Feline Master Groomer. It is an extensive program with many written and hands-on test that must be passed in order to earn a certification; less than 10 groomers in the entire state of Michigan hold this distinction!
I have always been a dog person, growing up with dogs my entire life, however, it was when I got a cat from my friend that I absolutely fell madly in love with him. An orange (red) male DSH named Peanut Butter that showed me what loving, in tune, tentative and sensitive creatures' cats are. I lost him way too young to heart failure and he took a piece of me with him. His quiet, calm demeanor is what reminds me of why I am doing this; I want all cats to be as confident and unafraid as he was. I now have a red DSH girl named Mango who is the exact opposite, and I must cater to her; love her!
