Angie, Owner and Groomer The team here at Kitty Cuts is thrilled to be considered for your cat's grooming needs and assures you that we will always have the best interest of your cat's health, personality and well-being in mind while in our care. Angie has an MSA from Central Michigan University in Human Resources and worked in the corporate world for 15 years before realizing her passion. She obtained her grooming certification in February of 2009 from Cornerstone Dog Grooming Academy in Clyde, Ohio and has been grooming both dogs and cats since. She has been fortunate to have had the opportunities to groom at a few different daycare/hotel facilities and in a vet setting where she was able to have cat only grooming days, as well as, in salons where both dogs and cats were groomed at the same time. No matter how loud, chaotic, or busy the salons were, both species were mixed in being groomed besides each other. It was while working in both atmospheres that she noticed a tremendous difference in cats' behavior, stress levels, as well as seeing the aggression levels heighten in a cat when dogs were present. This is what prompted her to open Kitty Cuts Grooming, a Feline Exclusive Salon where cats are the only animals present. Throughout her career she has continued her education by attending various trade shows (in and out of state), enrolled in classes and taking seminars to keep up on the industry standards. Angie is a member of the National Cat Groomers Institute (NCGI) program, the only certified cat grooming school within the US.
Angie had always been a dog person, while growing up her family always had dogs and steered away from cats, however, it was when she got a cat from a friend in her 30's that she absolutely fell madly in love with him. An orange (red) male DSH named Peanut Butter that showed her what loving, in tune, tentative and sensitive creatures' cats are. Peanut Butter unfortunately passed away way too young to heart failure and he took a piece of her with him. His quiet, calm demeanor is what reminds her of why she founded Kitty Cuts Grooming; we want all cats to be as confident and unafraid as he was. Angie now have a red DSH girl named Mango who is the exact opposite and must be cater to; but she wouldn't have it any other way!
Gianna has been working at Kitty Cuts since June of 2022 as a grooming assistant, TikTok guru and receptionist. She is a 2022 graduate of Anchor Bay High School and has recently determined that she wants to be a dog/cat groomer as well; she plans on attending a grooming certification program in the fall. She currently also works as a Pet Care Handler for a pet resort in Shelby Twp and has extensive training working with dogs in a daycare and hotel setting. She is an amazing asset to the team and brings with her a certification in Animal First Aid as well. Gianna has also only had family dogs while growing up and currently lives with Preston a Labradoodle and Gracie a Goldendoodle. However, since working at Kitty Cuts and working so closely with cats, she has experienced the amazing personalities cats possess and at the end of June she rescued an ill kitten from a barn, nursed it back to health and now is the proud mama of a DSH female named Meatball.
